Just a few pointers to help make sure you look your best!!!
Location, Location, Location
For any session, pick a location that is meaningful to you. Don't be afraid to think outside the box to find a location that will suit your style and personalities. I am very spontaneous and love to explore new locations! I strive to get away from the same ole same ole.
Hair and Make-up
Consider wearing matte makeup (it photographs best) but don't overdo it! Not only will you look amazing, but the extra confidence will shine through your photos. On hot days, carry oil blotting tissues to avoid shine in your photos. Now is not the time to try a new hairdo, so keep it simple and simply be yourself. If you are not comfortable with styling your own hair and you would like to have it styled professionally, I highly recommend Doug or Tia Lehr at Hairport in Dothan, Al!
Wardrobe
My goal is to help you make sure that your photos are fresh, modern, fun, and most of all REAL. For the best results, I recommend that you come dressed as YOU. Be YOU, be BOLD, and express your style and who you really are. Plan your outfits to be appropriate for the locations you've chosen. You may want to choose a casual, dressy, trendy or a played up outfit. For the best results, try to make your outfits somewhat coordinate with each other. Please avoid any loud or distracting prints, solid colors photograph best. Pick colors that go with the season, colors that match your skin tone and that bring out your beautiful eye color. Accessorize to make an outfit pop. Please avoid extra baggy or too-tight clothes, (too tight is not Hot) writing or logos, and lots of light colors. Darker, saturated colors photograph best. If you are not sure about your outfit, feel free to ask and I will help you out!
Be Lovey Dovey ♥
(This is for all the shy couples)
If your engaged or just in-love, please act like it! The best shots are made when true honesty and passion shines. These photos are for you and your special someone. So feel free to let your guard down and show each other some love! Hold hands, make each other laugh, give hugs and kisses, look into each other eyes. Stop and remember all of the moments that lead you to this point! Those emotions will shine through your photos and those will be the ones you'll treasure for many years to come.
Surprise Surprise!
Schedule a surprise engagement session and pop the question while I tag along behind the scenes. Wouldn't it be great to have that special moment documented?! Sure that's one we all remember, but what if you could capture every second of it in photos, the true time capsules of life. I can hide out and snap photos discreetly while you pop the question and stage a quick session after-wards!
Props & themes
Want to take your session to the next level? Think outside the box and create a themed session! Create a story or scenario to give you something to interact with rather than then posed "Cheese"! Think of something that represents you, or you and your loved one(s) style, something you love to do together and incorporate that into your session. Some ideas: Vintage/Antique, Music Theme, Picnic, A beach adventure, old fashioned/country or fun and whimsical.
Do Not Stress
Relax, and be prepared to let loose, look great and be yourself. Get plenty of beauty rest the night prior to you session! I will do my best to make you feel stress free and comfortable.
Hair, Skin and Nails
Prepare to be photographed from head to toe - do not neglect details! Girls, hair, skin. nails and eyebrows, you know what to do. Guys, fresh shave (if that's what you prefer and a nice haircut.. Please be sure your nails are clean too. In the days leading up to your engagement session make sure to drink extra water to hydrate your skin for the photos!
Just Be YOU
Just be yourself. Girls- be hot and fierce. Guys just be cool. You are going to rock your session!
